Quick Start Guide

Create an Encrypted Volume

When you first start using Privacy Drive, you will need to create an encrypted volume (default .pdv file extension) to securely store your files and data.

1. Specify the filename and extension of the encrypted volume.

2. Specify the capacity of the encrypted volume.

3. Set the password that you would like to protect the encrypted volume.

4. Click the Create button. The time it takes to create the encrypted volume will vary depending on the size you chose.

Mount the Encrypted Volume

1. Select the encrypted volume you created earlier.

2. Enter the password you set earlier.

3. Click the Mount button.

The encrypted volume now appears as a normal disk drive to your system. The first time you create and mount a virtual disk it must be formatted before it can be used. After formatting, you can place whatever files & folders you wish to protect in the mounted virtual disk.

Dismount the Encrypted Volume

Close all files in the virtual disk and dismount it when you are done using it. When you want to access the files again, simply mount the encrypted volume again.
